Probiotic/Prebiotic
Symbiotic supports optimum digestive function and immune health by helping maintain a healthy bacterial population throughout the gastrointestinal tract. This proprietary blend of probiotics and prebiotics is beneficial for horses who have difficulty maintaining weight, are susceptible to hindgut issues or loose manure, and those at risk for gastric upset due to stress, traveling, training, or changes in their diet or environment.
As hindgut fermenters, horses utilize beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms to help digest fiber. The fermentation of fiber in the hindgut produces volatile fatty acids utilized for energy and synthesis of B vitamins.
Most live probiotics die during processing and packaging, long before reaching your horse. Symbiotic, however, contains Saccharomyces Boulardii, a live microorganism that does not require refrigeration and can withstand GI stresses to colonize the hindgut. Together with TruEquine™ Yeast Culture, this combination of live probiotics and prebiotics helps beneficial bacteria flourish, and supports a tight intestinal lining that filters out toxins that could be absorbed into the blood stream via “leaky gut.”

What makes Symbiotic different from other probiotics?
Most probiotics are white powders where the bacteria died during processing and packaging, or otherwise die upon reaching the acidic environment of the stomach. Symbiotic uses a strain of yeast that does not require refrigeration, survives packaging, and that is proven to withstand the stresses of GI transit to successfully colonize the hindgut. Symbiotic contains other yeasts and forage based prebiotics that horses love the smell and taste of.
Why do people supplement with prebiotics and probiotics?
Often times, the delicate balance of beneficial bacteria in the GI tract is disrupted (i.e. due to medications, stress, illness, changes in feed or environment) and this can lead to various gastric issues. Maintaining a healthy population of beneficial bacteria while keeping the bad bacteria at bay is essential for proper nutrient absorption and immune health.
What are prebiotics and probiotics?
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria in your horse's GI tract that assist with digestion. Prebiotics are the food source for the beneficial bacteria.
Can I use Symbiotic with Ulceraser?
Yes! In fact they are designed to complement one another by focusing on the gastric and colonic needs of your horse.
What type of horses benefit from Symbiotic?
All of them! To name just a few: senior horses needing improved nutrient digestibility and absorption to help maintain weight; foals and young growing horses that need to establish beneficial bacteria throughout the GI tract; performance horses susceptible to hindgut disturbance caused by sugar and starch content of large grain meals needed to meet their energy requirements; horses with loose stool or fecal water and; horses needing to strengthen the intestinal lining to restore “leaky gut” to normal permeability levels.
Will Symbiotic help a horse with diarrhea?
There are many different causes of diarrhea (illness, infection, parasites, ulcers, sudden change in diet, etc). Symbiotic helps address chronic diarrhea by colonizing the hindgut with beneficial bacteria to restore the proper balance of microflora. Symbiotic also increases nutrient absorption, keeps pathogens and bad bacteria at bay, eliminates mycotoxins, and reduces leaky gut and fecal water. Another often overlooked cause of diarrhea is inefficient or incomplete digestion in the stomach prior to food (usually processed feeds higher in sugar and starch) making its way to the colon. This is why it’s also important to focus on gastric health. Ulceraser encourages digestion in the foregut where it belongs rather than in the hindgut, which results in the release of volatile fatty acids and plummeting pH ultimately leading to the death of beneficial bacteria. Ulceraser is also hydrophilic, which means that it attracts and absorbs excess water (reducing diarrhea) as well.

Do you have sales or promo codes?
No. We do not have sales or promo codes because we offer the highest quality product at the lowest possible price year round.
Do you have sample sizes of the supplements?
No. The reason we do not have sample sizes is because the average time frame for seeing an improvement is generally 2-3 weeks so for people wanting to sample the products we suggest starting with the 30 day supply.
