We recommend using Sudden Comfort within 2-3 months of purchasing it directly from us. While the shelf life is one year and the paste remains perfectly safe to use, it becomes more difficult to remove the paste as it becomes firmer. The reason for this is because we do not add any chemicals to the paste to keep it liquified.
Sometimes it is hard to get the paste out of the Sudden Comfort tube. Why?
If using Sudden Comfort within two months of its being manufactured, the paste flows freely If the paste sits in a cool environment for over 3-4 months, the ingredients “firm up” and become more difficult to administer from the syringe. Sudden Comfort is made with all natural ingredients, and we do not use chemicals to keep it liquified.
What can I do to make it easier to depress the Sudden Comfort syringe?
Letting the syringe sit in a cup of warm water for 15-30 minutes will usually soften the paste again so it flows freely.
How many tubes should I give?
That depends on your horse. Some horses and ponies need only 1 tube 1.5 hours prior to the anticipated event. Others require a second tube 30 minutes prior to the event.
Is it safe to give more than 2 tubes if my horse needs it?
Yes.
Why is Sudden Comfort paste thicker than other brands?
There are several reasons. First, the paste is not diluted with any filler. Second, in order to make the most effective product in the smallest possible volume we use only the minimum amount of oil needed. Third, the thicker paste is actually preferred by the horses and they are less likely to drool or spit it out when administered.
Yes. For barns buying in bulk please email us at [email protected] to discuss eligibility and incentive structure.
Where do you ship from?
All orders ship from our warehouse in Wellington, FL.
Do you have sales or promo codes?
No. We do not have sales or promo codes because we offer the highest quality product at the lowest possible price year round.
Do you have sample sizes of the supplements?
No. The reason we do not have sample sizes is because the average time frame for seeing an improvement is generally 2-3 weeks so for people wanting to sample the products we suggest starting with the 30 day supply.
Do you accept returns?
Equine Elixirs is unable to acccept returns due to the perishable nature of the products.
"Sudden Comfort has been a huge asset to our program, enabling us to keep our horses trainable and ready to win! Whether it’s a hunter that needs the edge taken off, or a jumper that needs help focusing, Sudden Comfort helps us achieve our goals."
Dominique Damico
Ramble On Farm
"We used to use other calming pastes but they would upset the horses’ stomachs. After trying many different kinds there is nothing better than Sudden Comfort. My horses are happy and anything I can do to keep them off the lunge line is a wonderful thing."
Sharon Enteen Prusso
Falcon Ridge Stables
"We use Sudden Comfort to help our horses stay focused in the show ring. It doesn’t make them dull to the jumps like other products do, but allows them to stay focused with a more relaxed way of going."
Lindsay Yinger
"I can’t imagine not having Sudden Comfort in my barn! It’s amazing how it gently calms horses without dulling their abilities. I find it’s fantastic for young horses, horses coming back from injury, and when you need to dial the edge back when they’re just a little too fresh!"
