Support Bone Health

Bone remodeling is a process that occurs continuously and is essential to ongoing soundness. It is the process by which damaged or old bone is replaced by new strong bone. Research shows that inadequate intake of Vitamin K is linked to low bone density and increased risk for fractures.

Pro Bono contains a bioavailable source of Vitamin K, which plays a critical role in the function of osteocalcin, known to bind minerals and protein in the bone together. Vitamin K1 is abundant in forage and leafy greens while Vitamin K2 is synthesized by bacteria in the gut. Vitamin K1 levels in fresh pasture are unstable, have low bioavailability, and are depleted quickly when grass is made into hay. In fact, research shows that horses who are removed from Vitamin K rich pastures have a reduction in bone density within 7-10 days.

Pro Bono also contains Vitamin D, which facilitates absorption of calcium and the balance of calcium and phosphorus necessary for proper bone mineralization. The calcium in Pro Bono comes from red marine algae called Lithothamnion, which helps play a role in bone formation and remodeling.

Pro Bono’s bioavailable form of Vitamin K, Vitamin D, collagen, calcium and phosphorus supports healthy bone and cartilage that is both strong and resilient, and benefits many categories of horses; young growing horses, those with limited access to fresh pasture, horses on stall rest, broodmares for fetal development, horses recovering from bone or soft tissue injury, and horses in heavy training.

How is Pro Bono different from other bone supplements?

Other bone supplements tend to focus on only Vitamin K and Vitamin D or calcium. But Pro Bono combines these ingredients in one formula with the addition of phosphorus and collagen, all of which are needed for bone remodeling, making Pro Bono a much more comprehensive supplement.

What kind of horses benefit from a bone supplement?

Pro Bono’s bioavailable form of Vitamin K, Vitamin D, collagen, calcium and phosphorus, supports healthy bone and cartilage that is both strong and resilient, and benefits many categories of horses; young growing horses, those with limited access to fresh pasture, horses on stall rest, broodmares for fetal development, horses recovering from bone or soft tissue injury, and horses in heavy training.

Is Pro Bono good for navicular issues?

“Navicular” generally refers to degeneration of the navicular bone that lies behind the coffin bone. People use this term to describe pain in the area of the navicular bone or the heel, including the navicular bursa, deep digital flexor tendon, coffin joint, or any of several ligaments. Ultimately whether Pro Bono or Arthroscope is a better fit depends on the actual diagnosis (for which we would recommend consulting your vet).

Pro Bono contains highly bioavailable calcium, phosphorus, Vitamin K, Vitamin D and collagen. Together these ingredients help increase bone density and bone remodeling. This is especially important for horses who don’t receive a lot of fresh grass and for those on stall rest.

Arthroscope contains the building blocks of joint health and several anti-inflammatories such as MSM, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, ASU, boswellia, resveratrol, grape seed, tart cherry and hydrolyzed collagen. This supplement will help reduce inflammation and manage discomfort to stressed tissues.

What kind of calcium is used in Pro Bono?

Pro Bono contains Lithothamnion, which is a marine derived calcium that comes from red algae. Its high calcium content and bioavailability helps inhibit bone mineral loss.

What is the difference between Pro Bono and Arthroscope?

Arthroscope is designed to target all soft tissue including joints, ligaments and tendons. It contains the building blocks of joint health including MSM, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin. It also has potent anti-inflammatories such as ASU, boswellia and resveratrol. Pro Bono is designed to increase bone density and assist with bone remodeling. Horses without access to fresh grass are often deficient in Vitamin K. Together with Vitamin K, Vitamin D, and a highly absorbable form of calcium from red marine algae, Pro Bono helps increase calcium absorption. Both products compliment each other and are safe to be used together.

This is a test FAQ answer

Do you have sales or promo codes?

No. We do not have sales or promo codes because we offer the highest quality product at the lowest possible price year round.

Do you have sample sizes of the supplements?

No.  The reason we do not have sample sizes is because the average time frame for seeing an improvement is generally 2-3 weeks so for people wanting to sample the products we suggest starting with the 30 day supply.
