Is it ok to use Positude and altrenogest (Regumate)?

Yes. Regumate and Positude are different. Regumate is designed to prevent a mare from cycling, but Positude is not. Positude helps address the behavioral side effects associated with the estrus cycle. Most people find that Positude is so effective in addressing their mare’s behavior that they do not need Regumate, but it is ok to use both.

Is Positude effective for geldings and stallions? Yes. People see a significant improvement in their geldings’ and stallions’ attitude and behavior on Positude. Positude is not just for mares.

Can I use Positude only at shows?

Positude is designed to be used daily so that it can regulate their hormonal levels and keep them at an optimum level with daily use. If you are looking for fast acting, additional calming support at horse shows, we recommend Sudden Comfort (fast acting calming paste).

Is it safe to keep my horse on the loading dose of Positude long term?

Yes. Most horses taper to the maintenance dose without issue, but for horses needing additional support it is safe to feed the higher dose daily.

How long does it take to see a difference when starting Positude?

The average time frame is 2-3 weeks, but because all horses are unique it can vary. Some horses will respond within 1 week and others may take up to 4 or 5 weeks to respond.
