Introducing Calmakazi®, the Latest Supplement from Equine Elixirs
Calmakazi® is the newest addition to Equine Elixirs’ line of innovative all-natural supplements.
Calmakazi supports the equine nervous system and is designed for horses that are anxious, spooky, stressed, exhibit nervousness, excessive energy, and have trouble focusing in response to environmental factors such as travel, training, competition or changes in environment. The all-natural proprietary blend is created from a balanced blend of whole food ingredients high in magnesium, tryptophan, and B vitamins. Calmakazi promotes focus and relaxation in horses prone to stress and can be safely used alongside Equine Elixirs’ other products. Calmakazi contains no prohibited substances and is horse-show safe, making it the perfect choice for competitors!
How Calmakazi Works
Calmakazi takes a two-pronged approach to helping your horse stay calm and focused. Forage based ingredients containing magnesium, tryptophan and B vitamins help promote optimal nervous system support, while adaptogenic extracts help decrease cortisol and increase serotonin in response to external stressors. This combination of ingredients helps ameliorate deficiencies in the diet that can interfere with proper nervous system function. The same ingredients that help decrease the stress response also help increase focus, allowing horses to maintain a sense of calm while still being careful and responsive. In addition to adaptogenic extracts that regulate cortisol and serotonin, Calmakazi contains tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin, melatonin, and other hormones that transmit nerve signals in the brain resulting in feelings of wellbeing and contentment; B vitamins that assist in the transmission of impulses along nerves; and magnesium oxide, a highly absorbable form of magnesium that assists with muscle and nerve function without the laxative effect.
What types of horses benefit from calming support?
Horses exhibiting some or all of the following types of behavior may benefit from supplementation of magnesium, tryptophan and B vitamins:
• Unable to relax physically or mentally
• Body tension
• Does not tolerate consistent periods of work, often becoming more excited instead of working down
• Has difficulty with collection
• Random spooking or running through the bridle
• Inconsistent from one ride to the next
• History of tying up
• Requires long periods of lunging before being able to focus
• Overly sensitive to sound or movement
• Massage and chiropractic adjustments do not have lasting effects
What the Pros Say
"The horses we have on Positude are more relaxed and easier to work with, which makes our job as riders and trainers more effective. A specific stallion I have was previously very hormonal. On Positude he has calmed down, is more receptive to the training and less focused on the distractions around him, and overall more focused on the job at hand." - Daniel Bluman, Olympic Show Jumper
"When we started using Positude I noticed an almost immediate change in our horses' behavior, demeanor, and general mood. One specific horse came to us as a biter, a kicker, and was generally mean. Once we started him on the Positude that behavior changed on every front, and he became friendlier on the ground for the grooms and for us as the riders. Using Positude on our horses, we find that it is overall easier to predict the horses' behavior and they are more comfortable doing what we ask of them day to day." -Geoffrey Hesslink
