Can I administer two scoops of Ulceraser once a day instead of one scoop twice a day?

To maximize results we recommend dividing the two scoops between morning and evening servings. If this is not possible it is ok to administer both scoops at once.

How quickly can I expect to see a difference?

Usually within the first shoeing cycle. Hoof growth is notoriously slow, but Crackdown will start increasing the rate and quality of growth within the first 3-4 weeks.

What are Tummy Gummies?

Tummy Gummies are a revolutionary way to help protect your horse’s stomach by buffering and neutralizing gastric acid before and during stressful situations. Horses produce up to 16 gallons of acid a day, that when not constantly absorbed by forage, can quickly irritate the stomach lining causing severe pain.

How do I know if my horse needs a hoof supplement?

If your horse has dry or brittle feet, soft feet, feet that don’t grow well, hoof sensitivity, or quarter cracks, then they would benefit from Crackdown.

How soon before riding should I feed the gummies?

The gummies start neutralizing acid on contact and reach peak buffering capacity within 15 minutes. Most people like to feed them while the horses are being tacked up. But there is no wrong time to feed the gummies.

Why does Crackdown have less biotin than other hoof supplements?

Because the amount of biotin your horse needs pales in comparison to the need for sulfur rich amino acids like Methionine, which are central to keratin production. Biotin is produced in the horse’s gut and most horses produce enough biotin to satisfy what they need for healthy hooves.

Can I give more than 4 gummies?

Yes. If you think your horse responds well to additional gummies per serving it is perfectly safe to feed more than 4 at a time.

What are the ingredients in Crackdown?

Crackdown contains a proprietary blend of quinoa, pumpkin seed, sesame seed, almonds, chickpeas, lentils, oats, kale, spinach, and brazil nuts.

If my horse is finishing an omeprazole treatment is it ok to start administering Ulceraser before treatment ends?

Yes, in fact we recommend it so your horse starts receiving the benefits of the supplement prior to the acid rebound effect, which begins when treatment ends.

Is there a difference between the carrot and peppermint gummies?

The only difference between the two is their taste. The peppermint gummy is made with peppermint extract and the carrot gummy is made with carrot purée. Both gummies contain the same amount of active ingredients.

Do the gummies change color over time?

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you! It is completely normal for the gummies to darken over time. This does not effect the efficacy or the safety of the gummies. The darker color is a normal response to oxidation.

All horses are unique so the time frame varies, but the average is 2-3 weeks.

Is it ok to give extra Ulceraser at a horse show or during times of additional stress?

Yes, but you should start administering the extra dose a few days before the onset of additional stress.

Is Ulceraser horse show safe even though it contains tryptophan?

Yes.  Tryptophan is not a prohibited substance under the USEF, FEI or AQHA.

Does Ulceraser support the hindgut?

Yes! One of the causes of hindgut ulcers is an excessively acidic environment caused by disturbances in the micro flora associated with a diet high in sugar and starch. Ulceraser’s forage blend with Omega 3 fatty acids and protein encourages digestion in the foregut where it belongs, helps stabilize and propagate healthy hindgut micro flora, and serves as a pH buffer throughout the GI tract.

Is it safe to keep my horse on the loading dose of Positude long term?

Yes. Most horses taper to the maintenance dose without issue, but for horses needing additional support it is safe to feed the higher dose daily.

The average time frame is 2-3 weeks, but because all horses are unique it can vary.  Some horses will respond within 1 week and others may take up to 4 or 5 weeks to respond.

Is it ok to use Positude and altrenogest (Regumate)?

Yes. Regumate and Positude are different. Regumate is designed to prevent a mare from cycling, but Positude is not. Positude helps address the behavioral side effects associated with the estrus cycle. Most people find that Positude is so effective in addressing their mare’s behavior that they do not need Regumate, but it is ok to use both.

Why does my horse need electrolytes?

Electrolytes replenish minerals lost in equine sweat. Maintaining a proper electrolyte balance in your horse is necessary for nerve, muscle, and brain function.

Is salt different than electrolytes?

Yes. Salt is just sodium chloride. Electrolytes contain more than sodium chloride and are designed to mimic the minerals lost in equine sweat, which include sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Is it better to add the electrolyte to feed or water?

It’s definitely better to add the electrolyte to your horse’s feed so that fresh, clean water is always available. Some horses won’t drink water mixed with electrolytes and you don’t want to deter your horse from drinking.

How many tubes should I give?

Why is Sudden Comfort paste thicker than other brands?

There are several reasons. First, the paste is not diluted with any filler. Second, in order to make the most effective product in the smallest possible volume we use only the minimum amount of oil needed. Third, the thicker paste is actually preferred by the horses and they are less likely to drool or spit it out when administered.

How many syringes are in a case?

There are 12 syringes in each case.
